The Story of How TSOC Came to Be

When I started out, I was clueless & scared shitless.

I know how to teach. Heck, I graduated 4 freaking years in education in a state university. 😎

But to create an online course?
Oblivious. Ignorant as hell. 

I was also nervous because I created a course about ‘how to have a great relationship’ way before that and do you know how many sales I got? Zero.

I was laughed at. There was even someone who said, “You’re only 20 years old (during those years) and you’re already teaching people how to have a great relationship? Ridiculous.” 😬

But damn, if it wasn’t for that embarrassing experience, this virtual school you are reading about would cease to exist.

I moved forward, and still had that burning desire to become a teacher in the newly built educational system we have now.

“I cannot make that happen again in this new course,” I told myself, circa 2019, when I was a budding online coach.

I launched it with only 2000 followers on my Facebook page, with a software I can barely pay, and I got 75 sales @ 2000 php per entry.

A total of 150,000 pesos.

That was Create & Rise Academy, batch Alpha.

You’re thinking, “Damn, 75 sales in your very first launch, that’s cool.”

Nope, the first course was the relationship one, remember? And I got balls. Crickets! Lol!

So the 75 was a relief. But not entirely.

My students were still uncertain about where I was taking them. There were a lot of what I teach that they do not understand. They had more questions, and more follow-up questions.

I would say, it wasn’t the best course.

I did not know what my students’ needs were. I just simply put out a content that I thought was helpful but didn’t put myself in my students’ shoes to create a better curriculum.

I may have also fell into the trap of simply creating lessons and selling them for the money 😔

But of course, I had to #FindAWayOrMakeOne. 

I mapped out a better plan on how I could become of service to the students who paid me to mentor them.

What happened next was the best part:

1. I decided to create a version 2.0 of my course. Better, more detailed! And my students’ questions were finally answered. 💪 
2. It increased my sales, resulting to now 6000 students on 3 coaching programs (+ this 1 so, four!)
3. Now I know EXACTLY what to do in course creation, and I can repeat it again and again and again.

Alas, the main character in the story, Demi Bernice, has already found success. 😂

In Batch Alpha, there were 116 applications, 93 of them enrolled and yet only 38 graduated. The decrease in number is because of student withdrawals (when they’re not ready yet) or removals (when they didn’t meet the standards). This course was never about getting more students in, it was to create a community of coaches that are highly exceptional and will not settle for less for their students.
